Hooksett, NH New England self-storage developer, True Storage completed its 10th completion of the year this past week with the opening of its newest CubeSmart conversion. The project is a conversion of a former Kmart that had been vacant for over a decade. The property is located at 1267 Hooksett Rd. and is the anchor box in the L shaped shopping plaza, which True storage also owns and is making improvements to.
This Class A self-storage conversion features True Storage’s expertise in transforming underutilized properties into storage facilities that serve a public need. Day-to-day operations will be managed by CubeSmart, while True Storage retains ownership of the property.
The property was purchased by the self-storage developer in 2022 with the vision of a self-storage conversion in the vacant Kmart Box. Hooksett Rd is a very well-traveled Corridor close to the developer’s main office which made the project even more exciting. The building features 95,000 s/f of climate-controlled Cass A self-storage space with a variety of exterior drive-up units as well.
“Revitalizing properties in our backyard always brings an extra level of excitement to the True Storage team,” said Chris Lewis, director of architecture & design for True Storage. “The vacant Kmart needed a major rehab, and we were thrilled to be able to work with the town on the project.” The developer is continuing to put their final touches on the shopping plaza and anticipates a resurgence of activity at the site.
CubeSmart customers will find this location easily accessible directly off Hooksett Rd, flexible hours, 24-hour interior and exterior video surveillance, security access to the unit, a variety of unit sizes, and high-end finishes throughout the facility.
