Turning Beantown into Greentown

Mayor Menino

GBCI LEED-Specific CE for BD+C, ID+C and O+M, one of only a handful awarded across the country.
Boston's Mayor Menino has been unwavering in his commitment to "turning Beantown into Greentown." Following his lead, 35 City of Boston officials attended a course on LEED & Green Project Management on June 30.
The course, delivered by NEXUS Green Building Consultants, aimed to enhanced the City's capacity to set goals for, manage, and implement LEED and green projects from start to finish. It outlined the implementation strategies on capital construction projects and focused on what review agencies should look for and require at each phase of the project. Several agencies complemented the course with presentations on current efforts and opportunities with the city. One attendee summarized the course succinctly: "I would highly recommend to anyone managing a LEED project."
The LEED & Green Project Management course is one of four LEED courses recently approved for a 50% subsidy under the MA Workforce Training Fund. NEXUS has also delivered the course for the U.S. Navy and is delivering the course for A/E/C firms in summer and fall 2010.
