East Hanover, NJ Urban Edge Properties signed 85 Degree Bakery Cafe, a Taiwan-based bakery café, to a lease at Hanover Commons. The bakery is planning to open in 2024. The 3,507 s/f space will be the second East Coast location for the chain.

This bakery chain was founded in 2004 and the company got its name from the optimal coffee brewing temperature. Recognized for premium pastries, bread, cakes, and beverages, it saw expansion both in Taiwan and internationally. Today, 85°C Bakery Café has more than 1,000 locations worldwide and has a devoted following. 

“There is much anticipation for this concept and their expansion to the East Coast,” said Justin Lustig, vice president, leasing for Urban Edge Properties. “Hanover Commons provides a terrific environment to introduce their much-loved pastries and beverages to this property with high-traffic anchors and adjacent complementary uses.”

Located along Rte. 10, Hanover Commons is situated in a stretch of major highway retail. The property is home to the first Home Depot in the state of NJ and additional anchors including Dick’s, Marshalls and Saks OFF 5th.
