Boston, MA Burns & Levinson partner Nancy Van Tine has been selected by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as one of their “Top Women of Law”for her outstanding contributions to the legal profession. The awards celebrate outstanding achievements made by exceptional women lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers, and role models.
“Nancy has spent 35 years building her reputation as a premier divorce and family law attorney in Massachusetts. She is recognized for her ability to handle the toughest and most complex high-conflict cases,” said David Rosenblatt, managing partner at Burns & Levinson. “She is highly deserving of this honor and we are thrilled to see her recognized among other distinguished and talented women attorneys.”
As a member of Burns & Levinson’s private client group, Van Tine handles a wide range of complex issues, including divorce, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, child custody and support, and actions for modification and contempt. She served as chair of the private client group from 1989-2016.
She is often called upon as an expert to the media in divorce and family law issues, and has been interviewed and quoted on a wide range of issues including domestic violence, child custody, infidelity and many other topics. She started the Divorce Law Monitor blog in 2009, which has grown to nearly 40,000 yearly readers.
Van Tine is a founding member of the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators (AACFL), which is dedicated to enhancing the legal profession through advanced financial education. She has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer for over ten years, from 2004-2016. She received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her B.A. from Harvard University.
