What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? I believe my most notable project or what has become the highlight of recent years is being involved in CM&B’s strategic and business plan development. It’s very rewarding to look back and review the year that’s ending and recognize all the accomplishments and progress the company has made. It’s also gratifying to collaborate with the group and create the roadmap for the new year and into the future; setting the goals we expect to achieve that will contribute to CM&B’s continued success as the years roll on.

What are you doing differently in 2020 that has had a positive impact on your career? My focus thus far in 2020 has been more geared towards the people side of the business vs financial reporting and analytics. It has been extremely satisfying to spend more time and effort in this area and has really enhanced my career. CM&B solicits feedback from all its employees on an annual basis and then works towards implementing changes that will improve the employee work experience. It’s been fun to hear what matters most to each individual and then start moving from ideas into action.

When I’m not working I am...Cheering on my high schoolers at a hockey game, attending a middle school play or pounding the pavement with an amazing group of runners that have logged countless miles together!

Who or what inspired you to join the construction industry? I joined the construction industry purely by chance almost 25 years ago. I had been working as a CPA in a few different public accounting firms and decided to make the move to a private company. It was sheer luck that CM&B was recruiting for a controller at that same time and a mutual friend introduced me to Kevin Puopolo, the Owner here. From there, the rest is history! The construction industry is so dynamic, fast-paced and interesting – I can’t imagine being anywhere else!
