William Tedeschi, Sr., 89

William Tedeschi Sr., one of the founders of Tedeschi Food Shops, died on March 6th at the age of 89. In 1946, Tedeschi, his father Angelo, three brothers, and brother-in-law started Tedeschi Supermarkets on the South Shore and Cape Cod. In 1961, the chain was sold to the Stop & Shop Supermarket Co., two years later the family started Angelo's Supermarket. Tedeschi became the vice president and general merchandise buyer of the chain's 20 locations in southeastern Mass.
