Caracausa of Market Realty brokers two new leases in downtown Mystic

More good news for Mystic. Judi Caracausa, broker/owner of Market Realty, LLC, a boutique real brokerage located in historic downtown Mystic at Mystic River Park, has brokered two new leases. The former Bermuda Shop location at 26 West Main St. on the corner of West Main St. and Gravel St. has been leased by Cathy McHugh, owner of Stonewear Clothing. Stonewear Clothing has been a fixture on Main St. for many years. This will be McHugh's second store in Mystic on West Main St. A seasoned retailer and a valuable asset to Main St., McHugh is also the Downtown Mystic Merchants liaison to the Mystic Chamber of Commerce and bullish on the Mystic area. Her new store will cater to women's fashions. In addition, the former 2,000 s/f Chicos location on 28 West Main St. has been leased by the Tidal River Clothing Company, currently a tenant on West Main St. Owners Stephanie Marshall and James Verni are excited about their new expansion and location. Marshall and Verni also own a second store in Newport, R.I. They took occupancy in February. "Mystic is and always will be a prime destination location. I really do not know of any other town that has this type of following and magic. People want to be here. We are located directly on the coast between New York and Boston and we are still undervalued compared to other parts of the state. There is so much to do in this area. It's a perfect day trip, extended vacation spot or second home location. We still have a ton of 'upside' here on the southeastern Connecticut shoreline," said Caracausa. Caracausa is a broker with over 28 years of experience. She specializes in residential and commercial real estate in the Mystic-Stonington area.

This may seem self-serving, and I’ll be the first to admit it. But unlike some of the artificial intelligence tools now reshaping our industry, I am fully aware of my own bias. So, hear me out. The rise of AI in commercial real estate is not a distant threat or a speculative headline.
