Wright-Ryan celebrates one-year anniversary of its Bangor and Northeast Harbor offices

Bangor, ME Wright-Ryan, Maine’s premier employee-owned construction company, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its Bangor and Northeast Harbor offices, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and long-term commitment to serving clients and communities throughout Central, Coastal, and Downeast Maine.

The company commemorated the anniversary with community open houses in Bangor and Northeast Harbor, including a collaborative neighborhood block party in Northeast Harbor that brought together local businesses, community members, clients, project partners, employees, and families.

Over the past year, the expansion of Wright-Ryan’s physical presence in these markets has strengthened the company’s ability to serve clients locally while contributing to economic development, workforce growth, and community investment across Maine.

“Our decision to establish offices in Bangor and Northeast Harbor was rooted in our belief that strong relationships and exceptional projects begin with being part of the communities we serve,” said Marc Bourgeois, vice president of commercial construction at Wright-Ryan Construction. “Over the past year, we’ve expanded opportunities for our employee-owners, strengthened partnerships across the region, and delivered projects that create meaningful impact for the people who live and work here.”

The Bangor and Northeast Harbor offices complement Wright-Ryan’s Portland headquarters and Westbrook Operations Center, enabling the company to efficiently serve clients from York County to Northern Penobscot County and from the mountains of Western Maine to the Midcoast and Downeast regions. The offices support a wide range of markets, including healthcare, higher education, affordable housing, hospitality, nonprofits, municipalities, and luxury custom residential construction.

Since opening the offices one year ago, Wright-Ryan has experienced continued growth through increased project volume, new client relationships, workforce expansion, and revenue growth. Notable projects completed or underway in these regions include:

• Sunridge Senior Housing in Bangor, a $16 million, 50-unit affordable housing community developed for Bangor Housing that was completed in less than one year after groundbreaking.

• Additional projects nearing completion include; the new Home2 Suites by Hilton in Ellsworth, Conners Emerson School in Bar Harbor, and strategic facilities improvements and expansion projects for Land & Garden Preserve in Seal Harbor.

For Wright-Ryan Homes, the Northeast Harbor office has also strengthened the company’s ability to provide personalized service to homeowners across Mount Desert Island and surrounding coastal communities.

As a 100% employee-owned company with more than 120 employee-owners statewide, Wright-Ryan continues to invest in the regions served by its Bangor and Northeast Harbor offices. The company has added jobs since opening both locations and is actively recruiting for strategic positions to support future growth.

Beyond construction projects, Wright-Ryan has continued its longstanding tradition of community engagement through support for organizations including Friends of Acadia, the Community Café series at The Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor, Acadia Fire FC, the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, the Mount Desert Chamber of Commerce, the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce, and numerous other local initiatives.

The one-year anniversary celebrations included office tours, networking opportunities, refreshments, giveaways, and community gatherings designed to thank clients, partners, neighbors, and employees for their support during the company’s first year in the region. The Northeast Harbor celebration featured a joint block party hosted in collaboration with neighboring businesses Herrick & Salsbury Land Surveyors, WMH Architects, and Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty.

Looking ahead, Wright-Ryan plans to continue strengthening its geographic reach, investing in local talent, and building projects that enrich Maine’s communities for generations to come.
