IREM becomes an executive member of OSCRE; Toothaker is IREM's rep

Chicago, IL The Institute of Real Estate Management recently became an Executive Member of the Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE), North America's foremost standards development organization for the real property supply chain. IREM then selected Robert Toothaker, CPM, who served as the organization's president in 2007, to be its representative on the OSCRE board of directors.

OSCRE's mission is to effectively facilitate the standards development process among key real estate stakeholders, including owners, tenants/occupants, investors, operators, tenants, developers, service providers, regulatory agencies, consulting firms, vendors and suppliers - to benefit all stakeholders and enable the real estate industry to function more efficiently in the digital economy. Supporting member organizations of OSCRE Americas represent in excess of $2.1 trillion in real estate assets, 12.3 billion s/f of floor space and 1,370,500 association members.

In the real estate business since 1978, Toothaker is chairman of Real Estate Management Corporation, AMO as well as CB Richard Ellis Bradley, AMO. He currently is serving a one-year term as chairman of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of the National Association of Realtors; he is a charter member of the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors; and was named the group's Realtor of the Year for 2004. He has served as president of the local chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and is a licensed real estate broker in Indiana and Illinois.

Also active in civic and community affairs, Toothaker is a board member of the Housing Authority of the City of South Bend, the Studebaker National Museum, and the Northern Indiana Historical Society. He is immediate past chairman of the Northern Indiana Historical Foundation and the Business Development Corporation, and holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Illinois State University.
