As we come into the summer months, the committees have been busy putting together some great events. Our program committee has planned the monthly luncheon program for May 29th at the Stamford Marriott. The topic, "What's Happening in Your Town" will focus on two cities -Norwalk and Bridgeport and all that's happening there. David Kooris of Bridgeport and Tim Sheehan of Norwalk will speak to the Southern CT BOMA members and their guests about the new developments in their city, why their city was chosen, and what they see happening over the next few years. Joe McGee of The Business Council of Fairfield County will moderate this program.
On June 3rd, the annual golf outing will take place at Great River Golf Club in Milford. Over 130 golfers will take to the links and then enjoy a dinner, where awards will be presented to the top foursomes and contest winners. In addition, at this annual event we give two children of BOMA members a scholarship to use to offset costs for their college educations. This year we have had eight children submit applications to be considered for these scholarships. This is always a well attended event and we want to thank Culbertson Company who is taking the lead sponsorship for this event.
Southern CT BOMA will play Westchester BOMA on June 19th in their second softball tournament at Crawford Park in Rye Brook, N.Y. Southern CT BOMA members plan on bringing the trophy home this year!
On July 10th, the Summer Social will be held at Hotel Zero Degrees in Norwalk on their rooftop "playground." The putting green, ping pong table, life-size chess players, as well as the comfy couches and chairs will be a great venue to network with others in the association before the summer break.
Plans for the fall luncheons are being developed now. The annual TOBY Gala will take place on October 23rd, where properties from around the area will be showcased as "outstanding buildings and excellence in property management."
As you can see, Southern CT BOMA has a busy calendar for the next few months. I hope to see you at some, or all of these great events to learn more about the association and to meet the members.
