Since the first of the year, the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute has seen steady membership growth. For 2016 the chapter has welcomed five new candidates and two new practicing affiliates. The chapter is averaging one designation per month with 4 new MAIs, 1 new SRA and 2 AI-GRS designations, a total of 7, through June 30. On the education front, the chapter’s trainee package, Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures, and 15 Hour National USPAP Course saw a marked increase in attendance. Attendance at 7 Hour USPAP offerings and continuing education programs has been strong.

As of July 15 the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapter has a total of 402 designated members, candidates, and affiliates.

• 11 Affiliates; and

• 85 Retired, Non-Practicing DM, Life, Semi-Retired.

RI Branch Chapter Events

• March 29 - RI Branch Chapter meeting/Presentation by Commerce RI.

• June 14 - RI Branch Chapter meeting and Election of 2017 RI Branch Advisory Board.

Other Chapter Activities

• August 10 - Annual Summer Social: Newport Harbor Sailboat Cruise with the Connecticut Chapter and MBREA.

• August 10 - McKenney Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the Hewitt and MBREA Kinsella Scholarship Funds at the Newport Golf Club.
