STV|DPM completes relocation of the North East Transportation Company

March 15, 2019 - Connecticut

Hartford, CT STV|DPM has completed the physical relocation of the North East Transportation Company, Inc. (NET). Through a management contract with CT Department of Transportation, NET provides public bus transit services in the greater Waterbury, Meriden and Wallingford areas. The company operates a fleet of 84 vehicles and employs 155 people. NET was established in 1925 and had operated from a converted brass manufacturing facility located in Waterbury, CT for more than 36 years.

The newly-constructed, facility is located at 761 Frost Bridge. The site of the new facility, once home to a drive-in theater, now features covered employee parking on the  lower level,  a main level that provides inside vehicle storage and maintenance, and a second level with offices and work areas for the administrative staff.

NET’s most important objective was a smooth and disruption-free relocation of its 21-hour operation. Services provided by STV|DPM entailed the development of a detailed, multi-phased move schedule that included the relocation of employees as well as the moving and rigging of equipment, write up of mover/rigging RFP, assistance with the management in the selection of the mover/rigger, management and approval of invoices and on-site supervision for all move related activities.

According to STV|DPM senior project planner Roxanne Perugino, “The project was a challenge, as the move-in dates were constantly changing, however, with an understanding moving company and the great staff at NET, it was a tremendous success.”
