The Legacy Companies hires Tansey as senior project manager

Wallingford, CT According to president and founder Don Riccio of The Legacy Companies, Jay Tansey has joined the company as senior project manager. In this role, he will be exclusively dedicated to supporting The Edge Fitness Club’s national expansion program.

Tansey has worked in conjunction with Riccio for nearly a decade including shared experience constructing new locations for Edge in Hamden, Meriden and Fairfield, Conn.

“Bringing Jay into the fold makes perfect sense as we continue to collaborate with Edge Fitness throughout Conn.,” said Riccio. “His vast knowledge of the internal workings of the Edge Fitness Club’s needs and goals, as well as his diversified project management experience is essential to ensure future project success.”

Tansey’s background includes a diverse range of new construction, addition and renovation projects. His account management experience includes nearly ten years overseeing work performed for high-profile companies such as Unilever in Connecticut and New Jersey.

Rounding out his construction background, Tansey has overseen the acquisition, planning, and development of over one million square feet of retail space for national brands including The Home Depot, Lowes, IKEA, Stop & Shop, and TJ Maxx.

Tansey earned a BA in Finance and Business Law at University of Miami and his MBA from Boston University.

The Legacy Companies focuses on all phases of real estate, development and construction. They have collaborated with Edge Fitness Club for the expansion and new construction of several health and fitness clubs throughout Connecticut. This program strengthens Edge’s in-state presence, with a total of 13 strategically located facilities currently in operation, and more on the horizon.
