With a fantastic year behind us as we all march into 2018 with high hopes for commercial real estate. And rightly so. The economy is terrific, unemployment is low, demand is strong for most sectors, and values are rising. How long will it last? Maybe another two or three years if we are lucky!

At the New Hampshire Real Estate Investment Association (NHREIA) we are primed for a great year with a new board of directors. Our membership includes experienced developers, investors, house flippers, and a wide variety of affiliates offering lending (like me), legal counsel, real estate brokerage, staging, environmental remediation, accounting, and a lot more. And we always have new folks joining us to start their learning process toward a career in real estate.

With such a diverse group our primary goal is to help our membership learn about real estate dynamics and prosper at all levels and in any economy. Toward that end we are planning an interesting roster of speakers for our monthly meetings. They will include presentations and panel discussions on a wide variety of topics guaranteed to enhance the membership’s understanding of the myriad issues surrounding real estate. And in March we will host an all-day seminar to tour homes for sale in order to learn the process of renovating and flipping houses.

One of the best reasons to attend our monthly meetings is to network with a diverse group of real estate practitioners. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a “newbie,” networking gives you the opportunity to pick the brains of those who have information you need to succeed in real estate – and to share your knowledge with others.

We meet on the second Wednesday of every month at the Best Western Executive Court, 13500 South Willow St., Manchester, N.H. We start at 6:30 and end by 9. Hope you can join us!

Andre Tremblay is vice president and commercial loan officer at Franklin Savings Bank, Bedford, N.H. He is the 2018 president of the NHREIA.
