2021 Women in Construction: Nina O’Brien, Service Administrator, Tecta America New England

March 26, 2021 - Spotlights

How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? Tecta is constantly changing and evolving, and I have to adapt quickly to learn new processes. The only way to keep up with the changes in the industry is to adjust to the ever changing needs of our customers. This is how we provide the best customer service.

Why should women consider a career in construction? Women in the industry are becoming more and more common these days. I think it’s important to show how valuable we can be and what we can bring to the table. You can’t make it to the top without starting somewhere.

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? I am proud to say that over the last 12 months I have expanded the technical aspect of my roofing knowledge which has helped me better serve my team in the office and the field. It has opened by eyes to what I am capable of in this industry.

What are you most looking forward to post-pandemic? We are all looking forward to life going back to normal. I think being able to see our customers face to face on a regular basis is something we miss, and it will be nice to see familiar faces again.
