Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? Starting out in the construction business, company leadership and my teammates at The Haynes Group provided me with the guidance and support I needed to be successful. I have always been interested in construction from the outside, but seeing this industry from the inside and understanding the challenges, complexities and opportunities, has been highly educational and motivated me to learn all aspects of the industry.

What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry? There are a variety of opportunities for women in the construction industry. I would advise other women who enjoy planning, problem solving and managing in a fast-paced environment to get involved. There are many distinct opportunities in this field, so if you have any interest at all, get involved and you will realize, as I did, that working in this industry can be both challenging and highly rewarding.
