What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Within the last 12 months I was given the opportunity to pivot my career. I relocated from Ohio to the East Coast, and from the service industry to now supporting DPS construction management on a client site in Portsmouth, NH. I have had an amazing experience so far, and look forward to continuing on this path. Additionally, I recently completed my life and wellness certification. Being certified as a life coach has given me an edge that helps me enhance understanding and communication with each person I interact with. These skills are very helpful to building successful, longstanding relationships!

What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry? The advice I would offer to women entering the construction industry is: (1) Ask questions and be an active listener; (2) Trust that you are a valued and integral part of the team; and (3) Remember that what may set us apart as individuals is what can provide balance to the team and bring great results.

Within your firm, who has helped you succeed within the industry? How have they helped you? I am unable to pick just one person within my firm who has helped me succeed because everyone I interact with is so supportive. Early on I discovered that asking questions and a willingness to learn empowered me. I am surrounded by so many knowledgeable and kind people at DPS, and each person I encountered has taken the time to answer my (numerous!) questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. Working with DPS has been wonderful. I am so glad to have made the leap and relocate for this opportunity. My colleagues, and all the people I have met, have made this life changing experience very rewarding!
