2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Kevin Hanrahan, The Washington Trust Company

Kevin Hanrahan
Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Group
The Washington Trust Company

Number of years at firm: 12

One thing on my bucket list: To hike Mount Katahdin

When I am not working, I am: At the beach!

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? A prospective borrower recently reached out to Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate team for construction financing for a new luxury residential subdivision in Rhode Island. Due to strong demand and a large number of presold units, the prospect’s former lender was unable to provide financing. Washington Trust was able to support this customer’s needs for current and future development, as well as expedite the construction timeline. While it is always rewarding to work with existing customers, I am particularly proud of being able to help this new customer with their financing needs, and to developing a successful partnership with them.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Kevin joined the bank as a summer intern years ago and immediately, we knew we had found a great future leader. He worked diligently, voraciously learning all he could about commercial real estate & banking. That enthusiasm continues today and in 2022, Kevin was the top performer on our team!” - Julia Anne Slom, EVP Chief Commercial Real Estate Officer at Washington Trust
