Jaclyn Teixeira
Director of Risk Management
NEI General Contracting

What trends or innovations do you believe will shape the future of your field, and how are you positioning yourself (or your firm) to be at the forefront? I believe the future of risk management will be shaped by the integration of AI-enabled tools to mitigate risk, predict trends, and identify potential risk factors. For example, two years ago, we began working with a leading software company in AI innovation for insurance verification. This partnership has proven invaluable, allowing our risk management team to focus on other critical tasks.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry? Over the years, I’ve been inspired by many women in my career. I started out in college pursuing engineering and architecture, but I ended up in construction risk management by chance. I was fortunate to have an incredible manager who provided guidance and support, allowing me the space to grow. She sparked my passion for risk management. My advice to the next generation of women in the industry is to be patient and trust in yourself. If you don’t find your groove right away, that’s okay. If it’s meant for you, it will find you.

Do you have a hidden talent or a surprising fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I have an identical twin sister. She is an incredible human; I could not imagine my life without her
