2025 Women in Construction: Janelle Amoroso, AMCON

Janelle Amoroso
Purchasing Coordinator
AMCON

What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community? My new role as purchasing coordinator was challenging as it was a completely new role created within the company. There were a lot of unknowns and creating the process along the way. The main goal was to ensure subcontracts are fully executed prior to a subcontractor stepping onto a job site, aiding in risk management of the business. This has been successfully achieved.

What trends or innovations do you believe will shape the future of your field, and how are you positioning yourself (or your firm) to be at the forefront? As a company we are utilizing coaching tools and embracing new frameworks such as EOS. EOS will help us stay on track and hold each other accountable. I believe having clear responsibilities are a must as we grow in the future.

Do you have a hidden talent or a surprising fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I rode horses as a kid! I hope to bring this hobby into my adult life and share it with my daughter.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry? Kurstin Reuschel, senior Estimator at AMCON, has always encouraged me to be confident and insert what I bring to the table. If I could offer any advice to the next generation of women coming up in the construction industry, it is to never doubt yourself. You are just as knowledgeable as any man in the room and confidence is key.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work? Spending time with my 3 year-old daughter keeps me present and is a huge priority of mine.
