What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community? In the abatement industry, we are often removing environmental hazards so others can rebuild. So, I am proud to be a part of any historical restoration where we remove hazards to preserve, not replace. Protecting a community’s cultural and architectural heritage is crucial, and New England is full of historical significance. Alpine has done many historical restorations, and the Minute Man National Park project in Concord, MA with Classic Site Solutions is particularly exciting. This work allows us to honor past craftsmanship while ensuring future generations can appreciate these landmarks.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry? The most admirable woman I have known personally that I see as a trailblazer, is ironically, a nun. Sister Ann Mary Cobb, MICM, was one of my teachers in High School. She was strict, disciplined, fair, and charming. Admired by the girls in the school, she instilled in us that we are not defined by what we accomplish, but by who we are. For the next generation of women entering the industry, I would stress that we continue to be grateful to the women who came before us like Sister Ann Mary, and for us in turn to be that role model for the women that will come after us.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work? Riding horses and hiking are my favorite ways to recharge - nothing beats nature and fresh air!
