2025 Women in Construction: Mahima Dhingra, Contracting Specialists Inc.

Mahima Dhingra
Project Engineer
Contracting Specialists Inc.

What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community? One of my proudest achievements was working on the Prudential Center Garage project in Boston, the largest enclosed parking garage in New England. This complex and high-stakes endeavor required meticulous planning, coordination, and problem-solving to overcome logistical challenges. I strengthened my skills in managing timelines, costs, and scopes while fostering strong team relationships. The project’s scale and attention to detail were key to its success, enhancing our ability to tackle complex projects and boosting our reputation for excellence in the community.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry? As a child, I would sketch my dream house, igniting my passion for design. After completing my architecture degree, I designed residential buildings and their interiors. Transitioning to construction helped me learn complementary skills about materials and processes on-site. I thrive on managing projects to a successful completion My advice to women entering the field: follow your curiosity, embrace challenges, seek growth, ask questions, and connect with mentors. Your unique perspective is invaluable and can elevate any project. Trust in your capabilities and let your passion lead the way.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work? I recharge by hiking, painting, sketching, and cooking Indian meals for friends, fostering joy.

Do you have a hidden talent or a surprising fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I love creating intricate henna designs and glam makeovers – it’s my joyful artistic escape!
