What trends or innovations do you believe will shape the future of your field, and how are you positioning yourself (or your firm) to be at the forefront? The future of construction litigation will be significantly shaped by advancements in electronic discovery and use of AI technology. The volume of eDiscovery has exploded, and managing this requires sophisticated tools. At Troutman Pepper Locke, we leverage our eDiscovery subsidiary, eMerge, to handle large-scale discovery efficiently. Continuous active learning (CAL) and other AI tools help streamline the discovery process, equipping the firm to better manage complex litigation. Troutman is at the forefront of utilizing technology to enhance legal practice and providing value to our clients.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry? Throughout my career, I’ve been inspired by successful women in male-dominated industries. My advice to the next generation of women in A/E/C is to seek out mentors, advocate for yourself, and never hesitate to ask for opportunities. Confidence and resilience are key. Good work gets rewarded with more work, so always strive to excel and learn from every experience. Build your network and gain leadership experience by getting involved with industry organizations, like Professional Women in Construction.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work? Traveling to new places and experiencing different cultures, especially through outdoor activities.
