2026 Women in Construction: Nicole Pappalardo, NV5

Nicole Pappalardo
Electrical Engineering Team Manager
NV5

Project or accomplishment you’re most excited about: My team and I are currently designing a new animal hospital for the greater Boston area. As an avid animal lover with a dog of my own, I know that taking a pet to the hospital can be very nerve wracking. Having a facility and staff that would go the extra mile for our dog made a world of difference. Having the opportunity to provide the staff of this facility with all of the tools they need to best support and care for their community members - both their four-legged friends and their two-legged family members - is such an honor.

Advice for women starting their careers: As time has gone on, the AEC industry has become more and more supportive of women who want both a career and a family. In fact, it has become the norm. They say it takes a village to raise a child - my village includes my NV5 family. If it wasn’t for their support, I would not be able to achieve my goals in both areas of my life.

What brings you balance or creativity? Family! Being able to balance my work with showing my daughter she can do anything she sets her mind to.
