What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Our team’s work to complete Michael E. Haynes Arms in Roxbury, Mass. – named for the famed civil rights leader and minister – delivers an 85,000 s/f, brick-clad building with 55 residences, with over 80% designated affordable, offering various layouts and bedroom counts. On the ground floor and garden levels, new commercial space hosts the headquarters of Cruz Companies, uniting our development, construction, management and relocation entities. The mixed-use, mixed-income approach greatly enhances the neighborhood and streetscape. The February ribbon-cutting was attended by state senator Liz Miranda and Boston’s chief of housing Sheila Dillon, among other dignitaries. As one of the country’s oldest and largest Black-owned real estate enterprises, Cruz Companies is delighted to complete this innovative development.
