For many years development throughout New England, and specifically throughout Cape Cod, has followed an automobile dependent, single use, environmentally taxing and aesthetically unacceptable form, creating socially challenged communities, devoid of all of the attributes of traditional neighborhoods and downtowns. Mashpee Commons challenges this antiquated model proving that new growth, involving a mix of uses in a compact form, within walking distance of one another, can in fact create a positive social and environmental influence upon the community and region in which it is located.
Mashpee Commons, a mixed-use destination located on the Cape, has been growing steadily over the past twenty years. As development continues, the vision of Mashpee Commons as a bustling, pedestrian friendly town center has come to fruition.
The Commons represents a mix of both independent merchants and select national retail tenants. Mashpee Commons has become a nationally and internationally recognized example of smart growth and traditional town center development based on the principles of New Urbanism. Highly attended events throughout the year focus on creating a sense of community and fun, continue to delight seasonal visitors as well as year round neighbors.
The location of Mashpee Commons on the western part of Cape Cod, and being centrally located off Rtes. 28 and 151, makes it a convenient shopping, dining, and entertainment destination for Greater-Boston residents, second home owners and year round Cape Cod residents. Functioning as the town's hub of activity, the Commons caters to both evening diners as well as brunch and lunch seekers.
John Renz, vice president of Mashpee Commons LP, is pleased to announce the recent addition of Panera Bread. "Our goal is to provide all of the conveniences of an urban environment within a quaint New England setting. Panera a is wonderful addition to our current mix of choice restaurants and dining options."
Panera is located in a former Star Market, which has been transformed into an environmentally friendly building with a charming New England aesthetic. A boutique Bistro and bowling alley will be located next to Panera. The Lanes Bowl and Bistro is scheduled to open in December of 2012. In addition to bowling, the innovative, upscale, multi-tiered venue will combine casual dining, entertainment and events. The "Vintage Industrial" vision for the Lanes combines an old factory feel with an urban edginess. Many of the furnishings within the green building will utilize re-claimed woods, salvaged metals, and LEED compliant finishes along with eco-friendly, recycled, sustainable materials.

Mashpee Commons provides visitors with the ability to conveniently shop, dine, and live in the fresh air of Cape Cod, surrounded by the quaintness of a traditional New England town. Looking for the perfect spot for your shop, restaurant, or bar? Leasing is now available!
