The historic building was originally built in 1862 for Arthur Lithgow Devens and has once been home to such notables as William Mountford, Percival Lowell Everett, and Augustus Thorndike. Later converted into residential units by architect Saul Moffie, this is the first time the property has changed ownership in 60 years.
