A great turnout for our annual NHCIBOR BBQ - by Douglas Martin

It was great to see such a strong turnout for our annual NHCIBOR BBQ, hosted and sponsored by our good friends at TFMoran. It is one of the “must attend” events on the calendar. Not just for the great food and company, but also as we recognize our NHAR Honor Society inductees and announce our prestigious Realtor and Affiliate of the Year award winners.

Congratulations to Marie Bodi for her fourth year and Gerry O’Connell for his twelfth year as NHAR Honor Society inductees. Your hard work and dedication to your CRE practice is commendable. Thanks for all you do for our organization.

This year’s NHCIBOR Realtor of the Year winner is Tom Riley. Tom is the president of Riley Enterprises, a long-time NHCIBOR member, a past president of the State of NH Association of Realtors, and most recently the treasurer of the National Association of Realtors. These positions are not obtained without a lot of hard work and dedication to the Realtor community and that is well evidenced by Tom’s resume. It is hard to find a committee he has not been a part of over the years. Perhaps the most impressive statistic of his 2018 ROTY nomination was the more than 200 nights on the road he spent traveling to various conferences and events in support of the global Realtor community. Despite that much time on the road, Tom was still able to continue to maintain an active CRE business here in N.H., as well as find time to give back to his community through charitable work with the Manchester Christian Church, Boys and Girls Club, and The Moore Center. Thanks for your dedication Tom, we appreciate you always keeping an eye out for our commercial causes on the national level.

We also want to congratulate Jeff Boufford, owner of Boyd & Boufford Insurance Agency, as the NHCIBOR Affiliate of the Year. If you have not had a chance to meet Jeff, come to an event, he is there!  Jeff is a regular at virtually every NHCIBOR event and many others in the community. His work on the membership committee is top notch and has helped our group grow to nearly 600 total members. While maintaining an active family life, Jeff is also involved with a number of boards and local charities, including but not limited to the N.H. Better Business Bureau Scholarship Committee and Neighborworks Greater Manchester. He gives graciously of his time as an active wrestling coach and referee and to the parish of Ste. Marie Catholic Church.  All of this while still successfully running a very active insurance company that saw a 67% increase in 2018 alone. Congratulations Jeff, a very well deserved AOTY recipient.

We are looking forward to our next social event, the 2nd annual Summer Mixer, in August.  If you are looking to connect and network with folks involved in the commercial real estate industry in New England, this is the spot to make that happen. All proceeds benefit NHCIBOR Cares and we will also present the annual NHCIBOR Cares Destefano/Barrett Legacy Award. Sponsorship opportunities still exist.  More info in the link below. Hope to see you there.
