Allegheny Contract Flooring completes Harvard Fogg Museum floor restoration project

Allegheny Contract Flooring completed a 20,000 s/f concrete floor restoration at the Harvard Fogg Art Museum, 32 Quincy St. Allegheny was hired by general contractor Skanska. The project required Allegheny to hit existing floor elevations and meet or exceed floor flatness requirements of 1/8 in 10" (Ff50). Allegheny prepared the 100-year old substrate for finished flooring by surveying, pinning and pouring over 20,000 s/f of LATICRETE SUPERCAP at an average depth of 2". All elevations and flooring tolerances were achieved. Allegheny used their SMBU (SUPERCAP mobile blending unit) to pump LATICRETE SUPERCAP from street level with no disruption to existing areas or buildings. No unmixed material ever entered the building. The LATICRETE SUPERCAP System is a time-saving method in finishing new concrete or capping existing slabs. It combines a LEED contributing, GREENGUARD certified, low alkali, self leveling cement-based technology with a computer controlled mobile blending unit (pump truck). The architect for the project was Payette.
