Fall is here, but the leaves on the trees aren’t the only things changing in the city of Warwick. As work continues to progress in historic Apponaug Village, there are several new additions popping up. As the circulator project continues to take shape, we welcomed two new businesses last month.

At Apponaug Four Corners, just west of City Hall, where the demolition of an old gas station occurred, now stands a newly erected Cumberland Farms. The 4,513 s/f building boasts architectural features that keep with the guidelines established for the historic neighborhood. A site wall was also included with the project in order to give the coffee shop and gas station a “street edge,” making the property more pedestrian friendly. The street edge feature will only enhance the final layout of the circulator project.

Both PieZoni’s and Gannon Sign have settled into their new homes. Now located down the street from their previous locations, both businesses are enjoying their new spaces and enhanced parking options for customers. A ribbon cutting is scheduled this month to celebrate the grand re-opening of PieZoni’s.

Also joining the city in historic Apponaug is the Chocolate Delicacy. The

sweet shop, which once made its home in the next town over, has relocated and expanded its operations in Warwick. Situated off Post Road just a mile from City Hall, the Chocolate Delicacy celebrated a grand re-opening on September 15th with a ribbon cutting event. As part of the celebrations, patrons were able to enjoy a 10% discount and chocolate-covered strawberries. We’re thrilled to welcome the chocolatiers to our community.

Finally, the building that was once the home to Wave Credit Union now has a new tenant. Dentist Dr. Kenneth Rudman has moved his practice into the vacant building. Dr. Rudman, a restorative dentist, has been working in Warwick since 1982. The practice will now be called “Wave Dental.”

As the circulator project continues – and, ahead of schedule – we look forward to watching these new businesses blossom, as well as welcoming others to our great city.
