Bender of USGBC to speak at Greenbuild - Nov. 16-19

Mark Bender of the USGBC's commercial real estate, market development team will be joining a panel of speakers at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo at McCormick Place West, 2301 S. Lake Shore Dr. on Nov. 16-19
The educational session "Green Firm Certification - Transforming Practice & Recognizing Leadership." will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and will also be presented on Friday, Nov. 19 from 1- 2 p.m. in Room 192BC.
Bender will speak about how do clients know if you are truly a green firm? Sustainable Performance Institute (SPI) green firm certification, used in RFPs, evaluates and recognizes the organizational capability of A/E/C firms to deliver consistent, high quality sustainability services. SPI assesses leadership, processes, systems, quality control, and is the first system to measure integrative design.
This session will share highlights from USGBC's new resource focused on the implementation of LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance in multi-tenant office buildings. The Green Operations Guide: Integrating LEED Into Commercial Property Management will serve as the basis for this session outlining both the why and the how of green operations.
