Boston, MA GBREB divisions joined forces with AAREP, Builders of Color Coalition, CORENET Global, CREW Boston, ULI Boston/New England and NAIOP Massachusetts to work together to begin the first of many conversations around awareness, education, and action to move the needle on equity, inclusion and diversity. The Boston CRE Summit on Equity, Inclusion and Diversity took place on Wednesday, May 8^th at District Hall. 

For the second year in a row, BOMA Boston held a Tech Talk on Code Updates and Construction Fire Safety with Lt. Paul Fitzpatrick of the Boston Fire Department, Construction Safety Unit. Hosted by the BOMA Boston Engineers, this event focused on the current state of construction in the city and requirements to be aware of. The event was held on Wednesday, May 15^th with over 100 in attendance. 

The Annual BOMA Boston Fishing Tournament took place on Friday, June 7^th. Members and colleagues gathered on the docks of Liberty Wharf for an early-morning continental breakfast, and then boarded their vessels for a full morning of casting on a professional fishing boat with local captains. The tournament was followed by a networking luncheon at Legal Harborside in the Seaport. 

BOMA Boston will meet you in the ‘burbs’ on Tuesday, June 11^th for “BOMA in the Burbs” Networking Nite! Join members and colleagues for a night of CRE industry networking, cash bar, and hors d’oeuvres. The event will be taking place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Jake n’ Joes in Waltham. 

Next up in the BOMA Boston Roundtable Series is “MBTA: Today and Tomorrow,” where attendees will get to hear from MBTA leaders about current and future information and plans for the T in Boston. Jeff Cook and Bill Wolfgang will share an overview of the complexity of managing numerous MBTA lines, plus technology, real estate, leadership, and logistics. The Roundtable will be taking place on Thursday, June 20^th from 11:45 – 1:30 p.m. at 100 High St. 

Over 300 members and friends will be in attendance for BOMA Boston’s sold out Golf Tournament on Monday, July 8^th. The tournament will be taking place at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, featuring a welcoming breakfast reception, golf tournament, golf clinic, lunch and the barbecue reception and awards presentation to conclude the day. 

Hop on Board July 25^th for BOMA Boston’s Summer Cruise, hosted by the Emerging Professionals. Join members and colleagues on the Music City Queen for a night of entertainment and networking. Enjoy a live DJ, hors d’oeuvres, and two drink tickets and great views of the city’s skyline! The cruise will be taking place from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. 

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations, or PAC or PMFP certifications. The next course, Ethics Is Good Business, will take place on June 18^th as a short course. The course will be instructed by Mark Giampa with Related Beal and will be taking place at the BOMA Boston Office, Three Center Plaza.
