BOMA Boston update: BOMA Springfest, education courses and summer BOMA events!

Boston, MA BOMA Boston will be holding Springfest on Thursday, May 8th at Big Night Live from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Close to 300 commercial real estate professionals will come together to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and great conversation with other CRE professionals at this special event. BOMA Women’s Leadership Initiative: Graduation & Kick-Off is being held on May 15th at the District in Burlington, Mass. BOMA Boston’s inaugural Women’s Leadership Initiative is inviting you to join in celebrating their completion of the program and all they’ve accomplished dedicating their participation to the four pillars of the initiative - Empowerment, Education, Growth, and Networking. The Graduation will begin with a panel discussion with four of our program participants - Tori Donovan, Bulfinch; Teresa Morgan, BXP; Erin Shields, Longfellow Real Estate; and Julissa Taveras, C&W Services, to share all they’ve learned and gained from this experience. We will then honor the graduates with a ceremony and recognition of their accomplishments, followed by a celebratory reception! Registration cost is $30 for BOMA members and $40 for non-members. BOMI: Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems Part II – ACCELERATED will take place on Thursdays and Fridays starting on May 22nd through May 30th. Class will be held at the BOMA Boston Office at 3 Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite, Boston, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Instructor Michael Gill, senior director, client services, Northeast Region, C&W Services will lead students to understand the intentional design and construction of buildings and how they function daily is a primary need in property and facilities management. The two-part Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems courses are designed to equip property managers with the well-rounded background needed to excel in the industry. In Part II of this series, you will learn about lighting, internal transportation systems, property maintenance, security, and safety systems. BOMI: Budgeting & Accounting taught by Barry Familetto, president, Stetson Management will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, June 2nd through June 25th virtual via Zoom. The Budgeting & Accounting course updates reflect the latest industry practices and standards. Innovative microlessons that focus on practical applications provide real-world insights and strategies you can implement immediately. You’ll learn the skills to effectively analyze financial statements, create budgets, manage and address budget variations, prepare rent rolls, and how to attract and retain high-quality tenants using tenant profiles. The 20th Annual BOMA Fishing Tournament is taking place on Friday, June 6th at Liberty Wharf and will be followed by an Awards Luncheon at Tony C’s. We are looking forward to a fun day on the open seas onboard professionally chartered boats! You and your guests will enjoy a full morning of fishing, followed by the Awards Luncheon Reception with other BOMA members and colleagues.
