Bond of BOND elected to National Academy of Construction

Boston, MA BOND’s CEO, Edward Bond, Jr. has been inducted to the National Academy of Construction (NAC) 2017 class.

Bond received this honor for his contributions to the construction industry along with his leadership abilities and integrity. He was cited by the Academy as a consummate professional and recognized leader in the built environment whose vision continues to guide BOND, a century-old construction firm.

As a member of the NAC, Bond joins over 200 leaders from every segment of the engineering and construction industry. He will contribute ideas and solutions to support the industry today in areas such as technology, project delivery procedures, safety, communications, cost and schedule management effectiveness.

“This is indeed an honor to be recognized by the NAC,” said Bond, Jr. “It’s rewarding to work alongside leaders whom I’ve admired throughout my career and give back to an industry my family has been a part of for several generations.”

Bond has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry and is the fourth generation of family managing BOND. The company has grown steadily since he assumed the role of CEO in 1984 and is one of the leading construction firms in the Northeast. Bond has taken great pride building a client-focused, family-driven culture with a true sense of caring for employees and community. His catch phrase “our word is our bond” exemplifies his dedication to establishing shared values of integrity, respect and trust throughout the organization.

Bond received a BA from New England College, an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master of Education from Cambridge College. He is an alumnus of the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School and the Advanced Management Development Program at Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has received many awards including the prestigious Distinguished Service Award from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), recognizing his long-term contributions to the construction industry. He has served on many industry committees and boards including Boston Society of Architects, Massachusetts Building Congress, New England College, Society for the Advancement of Consulting, Society for Marketing Professionals Services, St. John’s Prep and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is the current Chancellor of the College of Fellows for the CMAA.
