Harbor Point - Stamford, CT

According to Building and Land Technology, the developer of the 80-acre mixed-use project on the west branch of Stamford Harbor, it has leased two stores at Harbor Point to Go Green Dry Cleaners, a 100% eco friendly full service dry cleaner. The shops will be located at Yale & Towne, adjacent to the fully leased Lofts apartment community and across from Fairway Market, and on the Westside of the development at Harbor Point Square, across from the 101 Park Place rental residences. Both stores will be drop-off locations with all cleaning done off-site at the company's main plant in Westchester.
While Go Green Dry Cleaners has been in business for eleven years, they recently converted to a green earth cleaning process which completely avoids the use of Perc, a toxic air contaminant used by 85% of cleaners today. With green earth dry cleaning there is nothing that pollutes the air, water or soil. Basically a pure liquid silicone, or liquefied sand, cleans the clothing and leaves it brighter, softer and odorless. Go Green Dry Cleaners also uses biodegradable garment bags and hangers to further support the environment.
Partners Gary Madrit and Michael Koppy say they are pleased to be introducing a new wave of dry cleaning services to the city of Stamford. "Our process is non-toxic and echoes our philosophy of an environmentally safe and friendly lifestyle. Coupled with Harbor Point's Gold LEED ND Certification, we're a perfect match."
Building and Land Technology CEO, Carl Kuehner, III said the tremendous success of The Lofts and 101 Park Place, coupled with the delivery later this year of an additional 329 apartment homes, has created a real need for neighborhood retail and services in the South End. "I'm pleased," continued Kuehner, "that we have been able to attract stores like Go Green Dry Cleaners and Fairway Market that provide exceptional products and support our long term goals for Harbor Point."
