Chili's has opened a 5,876 s/f restaurant at the newest shopping center addition to the New England region, The Crossings at Lisbon. "This opening will be followed by a 126,842 s/f Target, one of the major anchors, in July," according to Ann Buonocore of The Buena Vista Real Estate Company.
Buonocore who started working on the site by packaging lots owned by four separate property owners some seven years ago said she is proud to see this deal come to fruition. "This was a slow, long, road. The stars were aligned for a long while, competitive sites were the primary obstacle to the deal, then market conditions started to turn and so did the set of obstacles. This is truly the culmination of a team effort from property owners, the town members and officials, tenants and the buyers, Cedarwood Development Corp. from Ohio, which has not wavered in its commitment to the site and the New England area," said Buonocore. Cedarwood and Associates did the lease-up.
The Crossings at Lisbon is located across from Lisbon Landing which is the location of a Super Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Kohls and other retailers that service area customers.
"I remember everyone wondering how Lisbon Landing could be a success up off 395. Back then it was a build it and they will come sort of thought," Buonocore said. It was the "critical mass" from Lisbon Landing that kept her focused on the location across the street as the next best place for retail expansion in the area. "Not to mention, Lisbon is a great place to shop, live or just to visit," she adds.
