CBRE's Batchelder receives New England Women in Real Estate Award

CB Richard Ellis' Emily Batchelder received the Esprit de Coeur award at the New England Women in Real Estate (NEWIRE) 2008 Annual Achievement Awards Dinner. The Esprit de Coeur award recognizes a female real estate professional who gives her heart and soul to the NEWIRE organization. During her ten years as a member of NEWIRE, Batchelder has served on the membership, nominating and golf committees. She is currently serving her third year on the Steering Committee and is the chair of the Charity Golf Committee for the third consecutive year. President-elect and fellow Steering Committee member Cessy Templeton nominated Batchelder for the award. "Emily Batchelder was a natural choice for this year's Esprit de Coeur award because of her ongoing commitment to our organization," said Laura Domenico, director of operations at NEWIRE. "Over the past 10 years, her involvement has helped NEWIRE to grow and to continue to help the many women in the New England commercial real estate industry reach their highest potential." Batchelder serves as the general manager of 101 Arch St. where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the Class A office building, including leasing, tenant retention, and capital projects such as the $1.8 million lobby renovation that is planned for this year. Batchelder has been a member of the CB Richard Ellis team since October 2007.  Prior to CB Richard Ellis, Batchelder was associated with ING Clarion Realty Services; her responsibilities included oversight of leasing, capital planning and operations on several assets.. "Emily Batchelder is the embodiment of the Esprit de Coeur award," said Andy Hoar, president/co-managing partner at CB Richard Ellis. "We are proud of her ongoing commitment and involvement with NEWIRE." Batchelder graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in Economics and Government with a minor in Public Policy and is a Charlestown resident. During her time at Colby, she was named an All-American in women's lacrosse.
