CKI and BKA's designed Strega Waterfront 180-seat restaurant opens at One Marina Park

CKI design studio and BKA Architects partnered in the design of the interior renovation that created Strega Waterfront, a new 180-seat restaurant located at One Marina Park Dr., for owner Nick Varano of The Varano Group. Ashling, Inc. was the general contractor for the project. After a celebratory opening on September 23rd, the restaurant formally opened for business. Occupying 4,000 s/f, every aspect of the interior design for the 180-seat restaurant developed by Jerome CooperKing of CKI Design was inspired by the 1940s era transatlantic passenger ships. These ships catered to the rich and famous who enjoyed the luxurious setting and fashion of ocean travel. The same settingis experienced throughout Strega through the interplay of the interior finishes. Specifically, these include marble and oak paneled walls, a curved glass and wood wine display, a custom created video wall, a baby grand piano, and fireplaces in both the dining room and bar. At the same time, CooperKing's design pays homage to Strega's origin using the gold and red color palette of the North End Strega and elements of the original logo. One of the main design features, a giant sculptural ring that dominates the central dining room, is a direct result of playing with the original Strega logo.
