Colantonio Inc. completes major
renovation of Agawam Village

Ipswich, MA Colantonio Inc. has completed the renovation and modernization of Agawam Village, 94 affordable housing units for families and seniors aged 62 and older, in partnership with the Ipswich Housing Authority (IHA) and Harborlight Homes.

The project involved seven two-story residential buildings – four featuring apartment-style units and three designed as townhomes. Upgrades included fully renovated kitchens and bathrooms with new cabinets, appliances, flooring, and wall finishes. The scope also encompassed new fire alarm systems, select window and siding replacements, and new roofing throughout the complex.

In addition to the residential enhancements, Colantonio also revitalized the community’s shared outdoor spaces. Upgrades included a new basketball court, new benches, and expanded parking to better serve residents and their guests.

Importantly, construction was completed while portions of the buildings remained occupied, requiring careful coordination and minimal disruption to residents.

SV Design served as the project architect.

“The exceptional teamwork on this project was a major contributor to its success,” said George Willwerth, president of Colantonio Inc. “Our close collaboration with the IHA, Harborlight Homes, and SV Design enabled us to finish the work several weeks ahead of schedule.”
