Colliers leases 11,236 s/f to The Episcopal Church in Meriden

April 17, 2014 - Connecticut

290 Pratt Street - Meriden, CT

The Episcopal Church in Connecticut will move its common office and meeting space to the Meriden Enterprise Center located at 290 Pratt St. The bishops and staff of the church will share the office and it will also serve as a central place for Episcopalians from across the state to convene. The church (also known as the Diocese of Connecticut) entered into a long-term lease agreement at the end of December 2013 and expects to move this month and open publicly on April 28.
The 11,236 s/f of leased space is light-filled and has high ceilings reminiscent of a cathedral. The facility will include a sacred space in a chapel with redeployed stained glass panels.
Bishop Ian Douglas described the facility as a "new departure for the Episcopal Church in Connecticut" and "an opportunity to bring members of parishes from every corner of the state together with the staff and bishops who serve them."
The offices are being designed by the Madison, Connecticut-based firm of Duo Dickinson Architect. Peter Shiue, CCIM, senior broker with Colliers International in New Haven, represented the landlord, 290 Pratt Street, LLC, and Peter Holland, senior VP of Goman + York Property Advisors LLC in East Hartford, represented the Diocese of Connecticut. Dedicated staff, clergy and lay volunteers have also contributed to this transaction.
