Corderman & Company awarded build-out for 20,000 s/f The Malin Seaport

Boston, MA Corderman & Company was awarded the build-out for The Malin Seaport, a 20,000 s/f hospitality-driven workspace set to open later this year. Founded in 2021, The Malin has since experienced rapid growth. The design-minded company has multiple locations established throughout New York, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. The planned expansion to Washington, DC; Boston; San Francisco; and Park City this year will fortify their increased presence spanning coast to coast.

Following a thorough pre-construction process spearheaded by Corderman & Company, construction is now officially underway at 111 Harbor Way in the Seaport District. The Malin will reside on the building’s second floor, beneath Amazon’s 15-story corporate offices and above a collection of ground-floor retail establishments, including Blue Bottle Coffee, Pressed Café, Lakon Paris Patisserie, and Lip Lab.

The Seaport’s reputation for fostering the avant-garde, hence the location’s nickname, “The Innovation District,” makes it the perfect backdrop for the next generation of startups, tech pioneers, freelancers, and creatives to flourish within the novel Malin location. The new hub for ambitious professionals will feature private offices, meeting rooms, desks and workstations, and a library. A dedicated reception area will also be developed on the ground floor, while a terrace extending from the second floor will offer a dose of fresh air.

The Malin’s approach sets it apart from traditional coworking spaces, with a strong emphasis on hospitality and a luxury, service-driven experience designed to support creativity and productivity. Different membership options provide flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a range of clientele.

Composed of principal, Barrie Ferraro; senior project manager, Keith Happeny; assistant project manager, Riley Baldwin; superintendent, Gerry Andrews; and laborer, Rogerio Konchinski, the Corderman & Company team brings a wealth of knowledge to this project. The firm has significant experience not only with traditional corporate buildouts for notable clients including Zipcar, Savills, Veolia, and more, but also with a range of hospitality-centered work for premier development partners including Millennium Partners, the St. Regis Residences, Boston Harbor Hotel, and the Rowes Wharf Residences. This amalgamation of relationships and projects lends itself to a unique aptitude for blending both sectors to deliver this customized space.

The team looks forward to collaborating with The Malin, WS Development, and Bergmeyer, contributing to The Malin’s continued expansion and brand evolution, and utilizing a database of knowledge and experience to successfully build out their new space in the Seaport. Through these partnerships, Corderman & Company is excited to create a space that is more than just a desk and computer, but rather an inspiring environment tailored to the lifestyle and goals of those who use it.
