Corvias Group has promoted Sara Ortleb to assistant general counsel from associate counsel as a recognition of her hard work and vital role in the legal department.
As assistant general counsel, Ortleb will continue to work alongside Corvias Group's general counsel to provide legal support on all company matters. As a result of the company's expansion into the student housing market in July 2012 with the creation of Corvias Campus Living, its portfolio now includes strategic partnerships with both higher education and military clients. Ortleb will assume additional responsibility across both divisions and help grow the legal department to accommodate the larger volume of work.

During the past three years at Corvias Group, Ortleb has successfully led efforts on several initiatives put forth by the legal department, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures, implementing the use of standard form agreements and contract training. She also created the legal department's intranet site to promote consistency and the sharing of institutional knowledge.
Prior to joining Corvias Group, Ortleb served as an assistant general counsel at Nestor, Inc., where she was responsible for all legal matters of the company, including the management of outside counsel and coordinating due diligence investigations and meetings between the company and interested bidders. Prior to Nestor, she was the director of compliance at GTECH Corp. where she gained experience drafting and implementing compliance plans and codes of conduct, as well as in the negotiation of customer, vendor, employment, non-disclosure and noncompetition contracts.
Ortleb earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology from Indiana University, and then went on to graduate from Emory University School of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Rhode Island and the State Bar of Massachusetts, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
