Crosspoint Associates receives 2008 Best New Development Project award for Meredith Bay Shops

Natick-based Crosspoint Associates has completed construction on the new Meredith Bay Shops, a 70,000 s/f shopping center anchored by Hannaford Supermarket. The total investment to the shopping center was well over $10 million and created approximately 300 construction jobs and approximately 100 new permanent full and part-time jobs in the community. On January 16th, at the Greater Meredith Program Annual Meeting, the center was named the Best New Development Project by the Greater Meredith Program. "The Greater Meredith Program's board of directors is very pleased to recognize Crosspoint Associates with the 2008 Best New Development Project award," said Rusty McLear, past president and economic development chair of the Greater Meredith Program. "Crosspoint Associates was a true partner with the community in building a first class development. Meredith Bay Shops not only enhances our community's New England character, but also meets the needs of our residents." Crosspoint Associates purchased the former Meredith Village Shops in the first quarter of 2007. Construction began in December of 2007 and Hannaford Brothers opened a brand new, full-service grocery store on November 14 - just 11 months after demolition on the former building began. Other tenants in the center include Rite Aid, Olympia Sports, BarnZ's Cinema, Dockside Florist, Meredith Cleaners and Lakes Region Nutrition. Meredith Bay Shops was designed to compliment the overall aesthetic of Meredith, a quaint community located on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee that has undergone substantial investment over the past decade. The entire property is now designed with Adirondack-inspired architecture, including natural wood truss work, entry-way, dormers, classic period-style lighting and a stone façade.
