David Arpin, president and CEO of Arpin Group, has been elected chairman of the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA), the national trade association for the professional moving industry. Arpin replaces Larry Fry, president of Fry-Wagner Moving & Storage, who becomes immediate past chairman.
"It is an honor to take on this responsibility," said Arpin. "I've been an AMSA member for a long time and have spent a lot of time getting educated on the moving industry, mostly by practical application, and I'm looking forward to an opportunity to give something back to an industry that's given so much to my family for the past 110 years."
In addition, Marco Uriati, general counsel and senior vice president of Arpin Group, was elected as chairman of the AMSA Legal Advisory Council (LAC). The LAC considers and addresses all major legal and regulatory matters impacting the business of AMSA's members and the household goods moving industry.
"My objective is to sustain the highest standards and improve upon the prominent role of the LAC in support of AMSA's mission and the moving industry as a whole," said Uriati.
The officers were chosen during AMSA's annual membership meeting, held this year in March in Jacksonville. The new officers will serve from 2011 through 2012.
