The Economist magazine called this the worst recession since the World War 2. With the speed of the recovery an unknown, and with upcoming congressional and gubernatorial elections this fall, there are lots of questions about when and where future growth opportunities will develop. On November 5 from 7:30 a.m. to noon, the Environmental Business Council is hosting a program that will provide a reflection on the outlook for the economy as well as post-election reflections. Grant Ferrier, editor of the Environmental Business Journal and Climate Change Business Journal, and Michael Goodman, associate professor and chair department of Public Policy at the University of Mass., will present their observations about key government and industry trends. They will focus their discussion on 3 business sectors important to EBC members:
* Environmental industrial sector
* Power and renewable energy sector
* Climate change sector
Each speaker will focus on policy, legislative and regulatory developments that could have an impact on your business. There will also be a panel of public and private sector reps who will present their views on the market place and developing trends.

The event will be held at the Emerging Enterprise Center at Foley Hoag , Bay Colony Corporate Center, 1000 Winter St., Suite 4000, north entrance.
