Fulcrum Associates recently completed the second and final phase of the $4 million clubhouse improvement project for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua.
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua annually serves 4,200 boys and girls ages 5 to 18 in locations throughout Nashua, Merrimack and Litchfield. Offering a variety of programs and wholesome activities to build attitudes, skills, values and behaviors that enable youth to succeed in adulthood, the Club's vision is for all children to have a safe place to go after school to develop the best within themselves, and experience the joys of childhood.
The first phase of the renovation consisted of the development of a new teen center of 14,000 s/f, largely contained on the lower level in space formerly leased by the Nashua school district. The new teen space, with its own separate entrance, includes the addition of exterior windows, teen locker rooms, a café, cultural arts studio, education labs, fitness studio, a performance area and music studio complete with a multi channel recording studio.
The teen center was formally dedicated in May to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stahl; the couple donated the seed money for the project. Their inspiration and generosity will be displayed on a plaque in the center.
The second phase of the project encompassed renovation of almost the entire balance of the 58,000 s/f facility. Major improvement to the façade includes features of brick veneer, a new accessible architecturally rich entrance, new control desk, administration offices, kids club game room, kitchen and dining improvements, dance studio, art studio, computer lab, installation of new windows and included acoustic improvements and painting of the gymnasium and swimming pool area.
Project team for Fulcrum included project executive Jeff Luter, project manager Brad Scott, site superintendent Ralph Fair and project administrator Patricia Dwyer.
