Greater Rhode Island Chapter 88 scholarship program

Greater Rhode Island Chapter 88 values education and ethics, and has established a scholarship program through the IREM Foundation Scholarship Program to further the profession of property management and benefit the chapter and its members.
The chapter's intent by awarding scholarships is to recognize members who have the most potential to become leaders in the profession, to encourage members who are most likely to obtain their CPM designation in a timely manner, and to support members who are active in the chapter and will continue to benefit the chapter by their participation.
To invest in CPM Candidates that have the best chance to finish their designation program and also become an active member of the chapter, the chapter will subsidize up to 50% of their course tuition.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
* Have a minimum of one year of experience in the real estate field
* Submit a complete official application as well as an employer affidavit indicating the employer's IREM course tuition reimbursement policy.
* Submit an letter describing why he/she is deserving of the scholarship
* Submit two letters of recommendation from professionals in the real estate management field with at least one from a CPM.
* Be an active Chapter 88 member
* Attended four Chapter meetings in the last 12 months
* Qualify for an Interview with the IREM Scholarship Committee
Selection Criteria
Applicant must:
* Possess a strong commitment to a career in real estate management
* Be an IREM CPM candidate
* Possess a personal commitment to gaining the CPM designation
* Exhibit a financial plan for the remaining tuition balance.
* Be involved in extra curricular activities within the Chapter or other real estate industry activities.
Administration of the Scholarship Program
Selection of scholarships awarded is determined by the Chapter Scholarship Committee.
A person cannot receive more than one scholarship per year.
Applicants are evaluated and scholarships awarded as submitted. Submission shall be no later than 30 days before the course date.
Scholarships must be used for IREM courses.
Scholarships must be used within one year of issuance.
Scholarship recipients must take and pass the course prior to being reimbursed.
Scholarships may not be used to pay dues or CPM application fees.
