Greystar appoints Kerr as new managing director of development for New England

Boston, MA According to Greystar, Gary Kerr has been hired as managing director of development. In this role, Kerr will be responsible for managing new development projects in New England and expanding the development pipeline for Greystarin Mass., N.Y., Conn., R.I., Maine, N.H. and Vermont.

“Gary brings a breadth of experience to his new role at Greystar, in addition to a keen understanding of the market,” said Todd Wigfield, senior managing director of development for Greystar.

Most recently Kerr served as managing director of real estate for Cronin Development, leading residential development  in the Seaport. He joined Cronin from Tishman Speyer, where he was a senior director overseeing mixed-use developments in the city. Kerr has been active in the industry since 2005 and has managed large-scale, ground-up developments for various asset classes. Kerr previously held roles developing real estate in multiple European cities.

Kerr has an MBA from Boston College and is an active member of Urban Land Institute, US Green Building Council, NAIOP, RICS and United Way of Massachusetts.

Kerr will be supported by a local team that includes recently hired Morgan Pierson, director of development, and Ryan Souls, development associate for Greystar. The team will be based at the Greystar Boston office which is relocating to a larger space at One Federal St.
