Harriman honored by Maine AIA

October 01, 2008 - Northern New England

Harriman received an honor award from AIA Maine, the Maine Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, for their design of the Maine Heart Surgical Associates office building.
The office building became a third story of an existing two-story brick parking garage providing administration space and three examination rooms for the seven surgeons and their support staff. The design of this 7,000 s/f building is meant to project a sense of the cutting edge technology used in the field of cardiac surgery today, as well as an environment that is warm and inviting to patients and visitors, while blending with a neighborhood that is residential, commercial and institutional.

The awards program was held in June at Bowdoin College in Brunswick where five winning projects were presented awards.
The jury of architects selected winners from 38 entries.
Patrick Costin, principal-in-charge of the project at Harriman, was presented with the award.
