IBG Development to start taking reservations for cottage-style homes at The Cottages at Hollybrook in Southfield community

According to IBG Development Corp. (IBG), an original developer at the SouthField master-planned community, they have begun taking reservations for their newest neighborhood, The Cottages at Hollybrook. The Cottages at Hollybrook feature 31 homes averaging 1,400 s/f. Its three architectural plans are available in a number of exterior and interior designs, making them a viable option for variety of buyers, from young professionals and singles to empty nesters and active seniors. "We are thrilled to be at this stage in the process, creating a vibrant community and helping people find their dream homes," said Gene Raymond Jr., AIA, architect and principal at IBG. "The craftsmanship evident in the Cottages is perfect for buyers who want a smaller footprint without forfeiting any of the special touches of a custom home." Distinct in their size, the cottage-style homes represent a growing trend of transit-oriented development, which offers residents an alternative to living in a densely populated urban area, while still keeping a connection to the city through public transportation, bike trails and access to major roadways. The Cottages will feature granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, energy efficient designs, cottage-style interior and exterior elements, and porch and patio options for outdoor entertaining. "A special bonus is the common green that envelopes the neighborhood," said IBG principal Paul Abelite. "They perfectly complement the scale of our homes, create a sense of community and bring the outdoors to our doorsteps." IBG is also the developer of The Meadows neighborhood at SouthField since 2010, featuring townhomes, courtyard townhomes and garden court single family homes from 1,865 to 2,150 s/f. The Cottages at Hollybrook website is now live and features a site plan of the neighborhood, renderings, floor plans, home specifications and pricing information. Formerly the South Weymouth Naval Air Station, SouthField will feature 2,855 units of housing and 2 million square feet of commercial and retail space. The plan also includes more than 1,000 acres of neighborhood parks and dedicated open space, a championship golf course, and an indoor/outdoor regional sports and recreation complex. The site is a transit oriented development with direct pedestrian access to the South Weymouth Commuter Rail Station. The project is LEED certified with more than 70% of all land preserved as open space.
